Off and on for several years I have thought about setting up a system that would make it easy to barter things.  But it never seemed like it would be worth it.

However now that the economy is getting pretty bad and with expectations of it getting much worse for the foreseeable future, it would appear that the time is ripe to get started.

My hope is that this place becomes more than just a place to trade, buy or sell stuff;  It is intended to be a community where the members can make long term business relationships or even friendships if they so desire.

This board is primarily intended for use by people in or around Ruidoso and the wider Lincoln County, NM area. 
Folks living in the rest of Southeast and South Central parts of the state; El Paso, Amarillo, Lubbock,  Texas, etc. are also very welcome.

People from farther away .... well, you are welcome to register, but if you are offering stuff to trade or sell, you probably better be prepared to deliver it at no charge, or at least at a very low charge.  And if you buy or trade for something from a local member, you better plan on coming to get it.  This is not an absolute requirement, just a pretty strong recommendation.

If you are a spammer or a scammer, Especially coming from outside of the USA, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME REGISTERING.  I check everyone's I.P. address and email domain name.

You must register to post.  I highly recommend using a "real" email address for registration.  If you use something like a gmail or yahoo mail or hotmail or any other sort of anonymous web based 'throw away' email address I'll want to know why. All registrations must be manually approved by the administrator  before posting privileges will be allowed.  

Despite my intentions of offering this place for the good of the people of this region, eventually I'll probably have to have to make this site break even financially.  So that means there might have to be some kind of charges, either a per ad charge, a charge for special memberships, bugging users for donations or some combination thereof.< So... somewhere down the road, the for sale only ads will probably require a small payment. And the Offered for trade/cash MAY also cost a few cents a day.  But, We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
